Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $887,979)
The congressional earmark grant will support a two part program: 1) Activities to protect at-risk children, especially in low income communities, from online pornography and exploitation. In major part this will involve free distribution of Internet filtering software and training personnel to implement online safety programs. 2) Technology-based educational activities (computer labs, etc.) for at-risk youth during after-school hours. These activities (some at college preparatory level) will be designed to advance youths' educational achievement, and help prevent delinquency.
