Strengthening Families All Across America

The project's title: Strengthening Families All Across America indicates its purpose -- to help build and support well functioning families through the services of Parents Anonymous (PA) Programs. The goals are to prevent and reduce child abuse and juvenile delinquency. The project's proposed activities include increasing the number of Parents Anonymous Programs nationwide, and collaboration with other entities with regard to program implementation and evaluation. Emphasis will be on assisting underprivileged and underserved families. The core principles of PA include shared leadership and mutual support (PA programs operate through collaboration between professional staff and parent leaders). The project will implement its activities through a network of 40 accredited organizations, and 152 local affiliates, in 29 States and U.S. territories.
