Juvenile Justice Center

The Suffolk University Law School's Juvenile Justice Center (JJC) provides legal representation to indigent juveniles in the Boston, Massachusetts area courts. The Center also offers training, for developing or improving juvenile defender skills, to law students and to members of the defense bar. Further, the Center pursues advocacy, outreach, and policy analysis initiatives in the interest of its clientele. The FY 2006 Federal award ($148,080) will be devoted to building the capacity of juvenile defenders and other service providers working with Boston's growing population of immigrant youths. Grant funds will support training of juvenile defense attorneys, legal services and immigration attorneys, pediatricians, and others working with this target population. Services will also include representation of immigrant youth in delinquency and school exclusion cases.
