The Juvenile and Family Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program is designed to assist states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments in developing and establishing drug courts for substance-abusing juvenile offenders. Drug court programs funded by the Juvenile and Family Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program are required by law to target nonviolent offenders. The Program supports the following activities: Juvenile drug court implementation, Family drug court implementation, Single jurisdiction drug court enhancement, Statewide drug court enhancement, and planning efforts. The Shoshone and Arapaho Tribes will maintain continuity in the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribal Substance Abuse Juvenile Court by holding staffing meetings and court weekly. The court will involve families more in the treatment of participants, and integrate a physical activity program into the treatment process. The grantee will report performance measures that include 1) Number of participants arrested for drug charges while participating in the drug court and 2) Number of graduates (participants who have completed all treatment).
