RAINN Programs to Combat Sexual Assault

RAINN is developing the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline, a web-based crisis hotline offering live, secure services. The hotline, for victims of sexual assault nationwide, will be available on RAINN's website 24/7, free of charge, and staffed with trained volunteers from RAINN's affiliate centers across the country. The Online Hotline will provide help to teenagers and young adults who are victims of sexual violence. The service will be especially valuable to those not comfortable calling a telephone hotline, including young men and the deaf and hard of hearing.

With this award, RAINN will continue development, testing, deployment, and evaluation of the Online Sexual Assault Hotline program. OJJDP will be involved in decisions regarding roll out of the product and dissemination strategies.
