Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $395,791)

The City of Florence Police Department will implement a Safety City project that will address unintentional injuries sustained by young children ages 4 to 14. The City of Florence proposes to erect a model that will provide real safety education projects that will instruct children on various safety techniques, such as crossing the street, fire evacuations and other life situations that children can prevent harm. The children will have an opportunity to interact with police and fireman. The goals of the program will be reduce the number of unintentional injuries by children from Northern Kentucky. The project will instruct and train over 500 children and the City will report these out puts to OJJDP.NCA/NCF
