The Gateway Foundation, which operates a substance abuse treatment facility for male offenders ages 13-18, will implement a violence interruption/anger management program within the treatment center. The program's immediate goal is to reduce the number of participants expelled from treatment due to anger and aggressive behavior with the ultimate goal of reducing participants' rate of relapse and recidivism. The program's strategy includes purchasing The National Center for Violence Interruption's curriculum and training facility staff to implement the program through 50 minute, twice weekly sessions with youth. Performance measures will include rate of incidents requiring intervention, rate of participants removed from program due to violence, and self-reported participant satisfaction and behavior change. The Gateway Foundation will report their findings to OJJDP in the grantee's Categorical Assistance Progress Reports. NCA/NCF
