Youth Leadership Paterson, an initiative to foster positive youth development attributes to adolescents in Paterson, New Jersey.

The New Jersey Community Development Corporation will implement an evidence based youth development curriculum called the Prudential Youth Leadership Institute for ninth and tenth grade students in Paterson, New Jersey. The goals of the program are 1) to improve academic achievement 2) to provide positive, productive activities during non school hours 3) to develop cognitive competencies, such as public speaking and communication skills 4) to expand civic engagement for the participant. The curriculum will provide youth with the encouragement, peer networks and leadership skills necessary to make meaningful contributions to their community. The two year project will serve 120 youth each year. The New Jersey Community Development Corporation will report the following performance measures to OJJDP.NCA/NCF
