Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center After School Youth Program

The Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center will implement an after school program for 150 youth in the Bronx area of New York, City. The program will provide youth with a safe environment that includes skill development in the areas of martial arts, dance, photography, computer technology, and art and literacy improvement. The Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center will target at risk student's ages 8 to 13. The program's performance measures will include 1) the number of students whose level of knowledge improved in the subject areas during the project period, as measured by the percentage of completed assignments.2) reduced time spent after school unsupervised by an adult.
