El Centro del Pueblo is a community based organization in Los Angeles, CA that addresses gang violence and anti-social behavior through counseling, gang conflict mediation, educational and job training programming. El Centro's program will provide structured operation of a center for sports, recreational and cultural activities targeting at-risk youth. El Centro will provide coaching, mentoring and self esteem to enhance socialization skills among area high-risk youth, gang members and young females between the ages of 6-19 years. The program will operate six days a week, and will link with educational, tutorial and youth counseling programs offered by El Centro. The project will track educational progress, reductions in gang activity, reduction in substance abuse and improvements in socialization skills through intake forms and periodic assessments. El Centro del Pueblo will report their progress to OJJDP in their Categorical Assistance Progress Reports. NCA/NCF
