The Allegheny Housing Authority will implement a structured recreational program for at risk youth residing at the Park Sheldon Apartments in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The project will provide computer learning, reading, and structured recreational activities. The goals of the program will be to reduce the number of criminal/delinquent referrals by youth in the Park /Sheldon public housing community and to improve the academic performance, including test scores, student attendance for the youth participating in the project. In addition, the program will coordinate support services from other community based organizations and develop an integrated approach to the youth at risk population that includes the Harrison Township Police Department and the Highlands School District.
