The YMCA program will provide services to elementary and middle school youth in central New Mexico by involving them in age and developmentally appropriate activities. The YMCA promotes positive youth development concepts: asset and skill development, youth participation, safe environments, meaningful and respectful involvement of youth, and activities appropriate for participants and their families. The goals of the program are: 1) to provide youth with a caring, safe and positive environment that fosters personal growth, 2) to help youth develop a healthy spirit, mind, and body through YMCA activities and 3) to give parents peace of mind in knowing that their children are in a secure environment. YMCA will measure progress through pre and post testing of skill/asset development, program attendance, the YMCA Developmental Assets Survey and the parents' feedback survey. The grantee will report progress to OJJDP in their Categorical Assistance Progress Reports. NCA/NCF
