This Federal award will supplement other funds for the operation of the Multnomah County Childrens Receiving Center (MCCRC), a short term residential facility for abused and neglected children. The project plans to serve 600 children over the grant period. The Center fills a gap in the county's service system for the target population. Data indicates that about 70% of abused/neglected children require emergency residential placement. The bulk of the MCCRC's budget is devoted to personnel expenses, which cover staff services to the Center's residents.
