Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2003, $496,750)

The purpose of the Orange County Fire F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (Firesetter Regional Intervention Education Network and Delivery System) is to reduce the number of juvenile-set fires by utilizing a team of professionals assembled to further develop a modular, regional, comprehensive, juvenile firesetter intervention program. This project will engage key personnel and consultants to implement the regional expansion of the program, which will include the development and production of program and training materials and the training of personnel to provide age-appropriate services. This will allow delivery of the program to children of various age groups and families of multi-cultural origin across a regional area.representation/court advocacy to children involved, or at risk of becoming involved in dependency court. Other participants who will benefit from National CASA training include judges, social workers, attorneys, juvenile court personnel, foster parents and governmental and private agency representatives.
