The GED & Beyond Project (GED&B) addresses out of school, at risk teenagers who are attending the City of Jackson's GED programs. GED&B's purpose is to provide troubled youth with an indivualized array of services that will facilitate positive growth, and eventually lead to an independent and self-reliant lifestyle.
GED&B consists of four essential social services components: 1)Wraparound; 2)Social Services; 3)GED Program; 4)Job Readiness; Referral and Placement and Transitional Job Program. Participation will require involvement in all four of these components.
The goal of GED&B is to establish and maintain a comprehensive one-stop outreach, academic and vocational training, referral and job placement, and follow up network for low -income, unemployed, out of work youth.
