Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2003, $500,000)
The National Network of Youth Ministries will increase its infrastructure and capacity to recruit and refer large numbers of adults from among and in partnership with its 72 national Cooperating Ministry organizations and 650 local networking affiliates in cities and towns across America. Also, the 10,000 church-based youth worker members of the Network will serve as a significant pool of potential recruiters as we work together to increase the number of caring adults willing to mentor a child or teenager in a local school, neighborhood or institution.
The National Network of Youth Ministries (NNYM)will develop and launch mentor recruitment campaign initiatives to increase the capacity of NNYM to continue to build an infrastructure that recruits, refers and resources large numbers of adults to be mentors in their community and to strengthen the programs in which they serve.
