This project will evaluate the I-SAFE America, Inc. Curriculum for Internet Safety. I-Safe America, Inc. provides school age children in grades 4 through high school with essential tools to reduce the risks of being victimized through use of the Internet. The purpose of the proposed research is to conduct a rigorous process and outcome evaluation using quasi-experimental and longitudinal approaches to provide information about students' retention and application of knowledge received through exposure to the I-Safe curriculum. The goals of the evaluation are to assess the quality of program implementation at selected sites, measure program effectiveness, identify the I-Safe program components that are essential to transferability, and document the cost of implementing the curricula. The study will also build knowledge in the field generally about Internet safety education.
