The Alaska Mentoring Demonstration Project will extend research-proven mentoring services in both urban and rural communities of Alaska.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) programs of Anchorage, Southeast, and Greater Fairbanks Area along with Foster Grandparents and Boys & Girls Club have come together to expand mentoring statewide and developed the Alaska Mentoring Demonstration Project (AMDP). The project will implement one to one, school based mentoring and will match seven youth with mentors per month. The goal of the project is to expand the capacity of Alaska communities to provide mentors with students. The project will report on the number of communities that establish mentoring programs and the number of students that demonstrated improved academic acheivement.NCA/NCF
