Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2003, $1,241,875)
This award will support infrastructure and services development of the SAGE Project (Standing Against Global Exploitation), an eight-year old non profit organization that provides comprehensive drug and trauma recovery, holistic support services and advocacy for victims of sexual exploitation and violence.
SAGE staff will use these and leveraged funds to engage in a two-year intensive effort to build local, national and internal capacity to combat trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Key project goals, objectives and strategies include: expanding SAGE services for girls and young women; building SAGE's capacity to assist victims and support survivor-led community change by creating a sustainable infrastructure of systematic management, service, leadership development, training and technology; solidifying local and national partnerships to serve victims of exploitation and violence and to combat commercial exploitation; creating teaching and outreach tools, curricula and a survivor residency program to enhance services and support nascent efforts in other cities addressing this issue.
