The National Children's Advocacy Center will continue to provide training and technical assistance to child abuse professionals across the country, especially those working within a child advocacy center or a multi-disciplinary team. This will be accomplished on three levels: ---Professional Development. Using the Internet, a series of trainings will be made available at no cost to all professionals working to prevent or intervene in child abuse. Additionally, a minimum of 320 scholarships to onsite trainings at the NCAC campus will be offered. ---Community Leadership. The support of the entire community, as well as professional collaboration, is required for effective child abuse prevention and intervention. This project will focus on enhancing a select number of community collaborative projects that were originated through the Safe Kids/Safe Streets Initiative, and areas for expansion of the core children's advocacy center model. Information on these projects will be shared with other communities, via a variety of means. ---Prevention Conference. There is a void in professinoal education for child abuse prevention specialists, especially child sexual abuse. The NCAC will develop a conference for these professionals that will allow them to learn from each other and the top professionals in the field. nca/ncf
