Underage Drinking Prevention Program

The Alaska Federation of Natives will use TYP funds to support its annual Convention. The project will help empower young people throughout the year, promote wellness and an alcohol-free lifestyle, and create opportunities for youth to become involved in problem solving in their communities. Focus groups at the Convention would be held with the dual purpose of providing research and gathering insightful information from youth regarding underage drinking. The ideas provided during these forums may be used to create alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs. An executive report that summarizes all of the information gathered at the Convention will be developed and distributed to the participants.
