This grant will allow I-SAFE America, Inc. (I-Safe) to educate children in grades K-12 about online safety. I-SAFE will provide its model educational program to 26 states during this project period and expand its implementation in the 24 states that are currently using the I-Safe curriculum. The I-Safe curriculum focuses on: 1) providing children and teens with tools to reduce their risks of being victimized through activities in which they engage via the Internet and; 2) providing awareness that the Internet is a community and, as such, requires member of the community to act responsibility and be held accountable for their actions. I-SAFE will also implement a community outreach campaign to promote public awareness of Internet safety for youth and generate community and national support around the issue of online safety. Funding for this project is earmarked under the 2003 Appropriations bill.

I-SAFE America is a nonprofit foundation concentrating on developing and implementing a K-12 internet safety education program, known as the Safe School Education Initiative and Community Outreach Campaign. The Foundation is dedicated to the development and adoption of a model educational program focused on: 1) providing kids and teens with essential tools to reduce their risks of being victimized through activities in which they engage via the Internet and; 2) increasing awareness that the Internet is a community and as such requires members of the community to act responsibly and be held accountable for their actions online.
