JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION CONGRESSIONAL EARMARK PROGRAMS

From Darkness to Light is an adult public awareness campaign about child sexual abuse. The primary focus of the project is a hard-hitting adult media campaign designed to attract attention to the scope and consequences of child sexual abuse. This is coupled with a "hotline" for more information, and for referrals to resources that can provide help to child victims and adult survivors of abuse. The project consists of powerful TV commercials, billboards, radio commercials and print ads that make the public more aware of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse. The ads advertise the website and a crisis line for more information or help. This crisis line connects to the local "Hotline" where the volunteer listeners have been specifically trained in dealing with sexual abuse cases.
