Project Summary for 2002-JS-FX-0007
This project will introduce the Family Intervention Team (FIT), a community based team approach to family violence prevention. The Family Development Foundation will seek to organize, select, train and develop the unique capabilities of the FIT team from different community organizations that are innovative stakeholders in their approach to family violence and child maltreatment. Each team member will represent systems that have the greatest impact on children and their families, including child welfare, juvenile court and probation, the community college and grass roots non-profit agencies. Additionally, information about FIT's efforts will be shared with other grantees who can benefit from or contribute to FIT's work.
The overarching goal of this project is to establish a new approach to working with at-risk families.
