The overarching goals of D.A.R.E. America are to prevent the use of tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs and inhalants as well as the occurrence of violence in the lives of elementary, middle and high school students. Federal funds will enable D.A.R.E. America to meet training, communication and technical assistance needs of law enforcement agencies throughout the United States who participate in the expansion of D.A.R.E. America programs within their jurisdictions.

The overarching goals of D.A.R.E. America are to prevent the use of tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs and inhalants as well as the occurrence of violence in the lives of elementary, middle and high school students. Federal funds will enable D.A.R.E. America to meet training, communication and technical assistance needs of law enforcement agencies throughout the United States who implement the revised D.A.R.E. America curricula and selected states participating in the national evaluation funded by the Robert Wood Foundation. NCA/NCF
DARE America will provide training and guidance to law enforcement agencies throughout the United States so they can effectively run their juvenile drug abuse prevention programs in their communities. A goal of DARE is to educate youths so that they may make healthy lifestyle choices when confronted with drugs. DARE America will provide mentor officer training, DARE officer training, a specialized middle school (7th grade) training and high school (9th grade) training, and give support to regional and local training centers and help them become accredited DARE training sites. DARE America will report on performance measures including the number of law enforcement personnel trained, and the value of the training as evidenced by questionnaires and follow-ups.NCA/NCF
