INTERSTATE COMPACT ON JUVENILES COMPREHENSIVE REVISION

In its efforts to address the structural and functional issues of the current Interstate Compact on Juveniles (ICJ), OJJDP, in cooperation with the Council of State Governments (CSG), is will continue provide legislative and policy support for states interested in adopting the newly drafted Interstate Compact FOR Juveniles. This effort is based on recommendations by the ICJ Advisory Group provided to OJJDP in the Spring of 2001. In this continuing effort, CSG will convene a second legislative briefing of key State legislatures and policy makers as a means to educate them on the new ICJ language. CSG and OJJDP will also further develop briefing materials for the new ICJ document as well as continue to be available for legislative testimony on an as needed basis for any State seeking technical assistance concerning the new ICJ draft.
