PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 2001-DD-BX-0077
The Boys and Girls of America (BGC) has identified a need to link its training strategy to a consistent, comprehensive and sequential curriculum that is diven out of organizational core competencies. In addition, it has identified a need to develop a movement-wide diversity strategy.
With these funds, the BGC will develop the "Strom Thurmond Boys and Girls Club Leadership Institute at Clemson University". This multi-faceted initiative will serve as a catalyst for the implementation of a professional development and training strategy. Boys and Girls Club professionals and national staff will be trained through a sequential design that supports a continuum fo inter-related staff development needs. Following a needs and readiness assessment, the classroom-based model will be augmented by a cost-effective plan to implement a distance and e-learning strategy over the next five years.
This award is consistent with a FY 2001 congressional hard earmark.
