5th Circuit Juvenile Drug Court

The Buchanan County Juvenile Office will target nonviolent youths, ages 14-16, who are arrested and have a substance abuse history. The program will serve 115 youths and at least 2 family members for each youth during the course of the grant. Participants are expected to engage in the program for a minimum of 12 months. The drug court will provide early, continuous and intensive judicially supervised treatment, mandatory drug testing, graduated sanctions, aftercare and other rehabilitative services. Additionally, an automated management information system will be used to monitor client progress. Outcome and process evaluations also will be conducted.
