To Develop Standards for School Resource Offices, to Provide T&TA for SRO's

The School Resource Officer Program (SRO) ensures that SRO's have the necessary tools, resources, and skills to perform their functions and duties in a comprehensive and effective manner. This will ve accomplished by establishing national SRO standards under which DRO across the Nation can use to better protect children and ensure school safety. This will also be accomplished through a rigorous training program that trains school officials, law enforcement officials and other juvenile justice officials from a top-down structure in the basic structure and policies of school safety. This project also provides for on-site and off-site technical assistance to those participants who have successfully completed one of the three components of the SRO Initiative.
