PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 2000 JS-FX 0007

The Mount Hope Youth Initiative has been designed by the Mount Hope Housing Company to serve young people ages 6 to 21 in Community Districts 4 and 5 in the South Bronx. The initiative seeks to provide an array of programs and services that will assist area youth in developing the educational, social and vocational skills needed to become self-sufficient, productive citizens who are able to contribute positively to their families, communities and society at large. The Initiative has been divided into three program areas: Job Training; Career Readiness; and After School and Summer Program Expansion. The core components of each program will include: Vocational and Life skills Training-Academic Enrichment-Leadership Development-Internship-Case Management and Parent Involvement.
