The goals of the Juvenile Justice/Substance Abuse Integration project include: (1) Assessment of the substance abuse needs, problems, and resources of the Missouri juvenile justice system; (2) identification of appropriate models for substance abuse treatment program improvement and delivery;also for training delivery; (3) building commitment and partnerships among stakeholders, to achieve more effective substance abuse treatment programs in, and for, the juvenile justice system; and (4) increasing the knowledge,skills, and commitment of juvenile justice staff for providing treatment services to drug involved juveniles in the system.
