PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 2000-JN-FX-0105 (S-1)
Through this grant, the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, hopes to continue their efforts to expand their reach to recruit boys from kindergarten to grade 12, who attend schools in "underserved" neighborhoods of the Washington area. Specifically, the Council wants to fully implement their K-6 Learning for Life curriculum, which includes lessons on truancy and conflict resolution, developed under a previous grant from OJJDP. In addition, they will tailor the Exploring program - the after school mentoring and career exploration component for Learning for Life - for the special needs of urban participants.
