1) support and expand after-school and summer school programs targeted to at-risk students with the focus on achieving success in school;
2) sustain and expand the focus of neighborhood groups, as well as continue to expand coalition membership;
3) educate citizens on the dangers of substance abuse through community forums and wide dissemination of substance abuse literature;
4) promote the 40 Developmental Assets approach throughout the community by SACAT's support of the Josephine County Focus Teen Council, and continue to educate all segments of the community on a common language that emphasizes the strengths and assets that youth possess; and
5) link neighborhood Assets to each Focus neighborhood to: a) strengthen each community; b) forge a stronger bond between residents and neighborhood programs conducted by churches, youth programs, fire stations; and c) continue support of these neighborhood projects at the end of this grant.
