FY 2004 Continuatin Drug-Free Communities Support Program

Central Yavapai Coalition for Substance Abuse Education and Prevention is the fiscal agent for Advocates for Positive Choices. The coalition serves Central Yavapai County, a rapidly growing rural section of Yavapai County with a population of approximately 92,993. To achieve the two goals of reducing substance abuse among youth and of strengthening community anti-drug coalitions, the coalition will implement the following strategies:
1) increase youth involved in mentoring and SMARTMoves programs;
2) increase parent education programs in the community especially for high risk parents;
3) improve training on the impacts of substances for youth service workers;
4) increase involvement of community leaders in Advocates for Positive Choices, especially for the business community, media and youth communities; and
5) improve collaboration between APC and the Interfaith Coalition for Compassion and Justice. CA/NCF
