Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 1999, $1,050,938)
The National Juvenile Court Data Archive provides detailed and accurate information on the activities of the Nation's juvenile courts. Activities include: gathering automated data on more than 1 million juvenile court cases every year; extracting and reorganizing data files into formats that support statistical analyses; and using these data to construct a national profile of the annual delinquency and status offense caseloads processed by juvenile courts. The grantee, National Center for Juvenile Justice (part of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges), preserves the original and restructured data files and distributes them for secondary analyses. The project also conducts numerous studies, prepares several products (annual Juvenile Court Statistics report, OJJDP Bulletins and Fact Sheets), and presents findings at conferences and meetings.
