Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 1998, $418,705)
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) uses state-of-the-art approaches to train and inform all levels of the juvenile justice, education, child welfare, and law enforcement communities about best practices and critical issues affecting America's youth. Since 1992, the Juvenile Justice Telecommunications Assistance Project (JJTAP) has assisted OJJDP in exploring new technologies and cost-effective means of delivering consistent training and information to people who live in geographically diverse areas that may limit their access to such information. A fundamental issue at the core of technology-based training and information delivery is the changing nature of today's professional world. Limited funds and time, great distances, and other constraints are creating a strong demand for more efficient, expedient ways to deliver information.
