PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 98-JN-FX-0025 (S-4)

The successful collaboration between the Glendale, Arizona Mayor's Alliance for Youth, the Northern Maricopa Partnership and the Glendale Campus of Midwestern University plans to continue and redirect their Biomedical Drug Education Program for FY2002. Continual efforts include 1) high impact multimedia biomedical presentations to local high schools by Midwestern University representatives; 2) continual development of the Drug Education Website; and 3) the coordination of special events by request for the public. New, expanded and redirected efforts include reaching wider audiences and additional high school populations within the communities served by the Mayor's Alliance. The immediate target audiences will include thousands fo high school students enrolled in Glendale, Peoria, Deer Valley, Paradise Valley and Cave Creek public schools as well as their families and adults in the community. This collaboration will continue the formal campus-community drug education program that is armed with the latest biomedical and technological advances to enhance communication between educators and their students, between neighboring educational institutions and drug prevention organizations, and between parents and their children.
