PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 96-MU-MU-K009 (S-5)
This award will allow the National Children's Alliance (NCA) to provide funds to local communities that will result in improved response to child abuse and neglect. Funding will be provided to enhance and strengthen already existing CAC programs in local communities as well as to promote and support the development of CACs/multi-disciplinary team programs in interested and under-served communities. These CACs will coordinate a comprehensive response to child abuse in order to improve the investigation and prosecution of cases while lessening the trauma associated with these cases through the provision of child-focused and therapeutic services. NCA will promote the expansion of CACs nationwide through the following funding strategy: (1) program development; (2) program support; (3) training; and (4) chapter support. These grants will be awarded to NCA members (for all categories of grants) as well as non-member CACs (for training and program development grants)
