Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $617,952)
From its inception in 1999, the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (PA ICAC) has grown to 86 regional collaborating affiliate agencies and more than 225 dedicated investigators, forensics examiners, analysts and prosecutors with expertise combating online child victimization and the possession and distribution of child pornography. Program renewal funding will maintain and strengthen Pennsylvania ICAC Task Force initiatives and cultivate and sustain high levels of inter-agency cooperation through support for training and equipment. Increasing the capacity to conduct proactive ICAC investigations is reflected in the funding for overtime hours to perform Internet traveler stings, off hours surveillance, and execution of search warrants. More specifically, the Task Force will work to: increase the number of both proactive and reactive investigations; increase the number of forensic examinations; increase the number of referrals received from other ICAC Task Forces and federal partners; increase the capabilities of the Pennsylvania ICAC Task Force agencies in the investigation of technology-facilitated crimes against children; enhance the Pennsylvania ICAC Task Force’s effectiveness in preventing these types of offenses; and formalize law enforcement partnerships through written agreements.
