The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General (NMOAG), New Mexico Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (NM ICAC) will continue to maintain, expand, and improve the NM ICAC Task Force's effectiveness in preventing, interdicting, investigating, and prosecuting Internet crimes against children and technology-facilitated child exploitation. The New Mexico ICAC Task Force will continue supporting affiliates and enhancing existing efforts to combat technology-facilitated child exploitation by identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting child sexual predators. The NMOAG will continue to encourage the collaborative participation of federal, state, tribal, military, and local law enforcement in addition to prosecutorial agencies in NM to assist in the overall effort to reduce the effects of Internet-related predations. In addition, the NMOAG will continue to develop working relationships with Tribal law enforcement and non-government organizations (NGO) in New Mexico. The funding will assist efforts in the following areas: training, equipment, supplies, technical assistance, and personnel, which will further the mission of the PROTECT Our Children Act. More specifically, the Task Force will work to: increase the number of both proactive and reactive investigations; increase the number of forensic examinations; increase the number of referrals received from other ICAC Task Forces and federal partners; increase the capabilities of the NM ICAC Task Force agencies in the investigation of technology-facilitated crimes against children; enhance the NM ICAC Task Force's effectiveness in preventing these types of offenses; and formalize law enforcement partnerships through written agreements.
