Solid Ground Student Safety Initiative

Strategic Solutions for Families, Inc. in partnership with Alcorn County School District, Corinth School District, and Alcorn County Youth Court, Mississippi will implement the Solid Ground Student Safety Initiatives to address youth violence. The Initiative will improve school capacity to prevent and intervene early to incidents of Violence; enhance and expand partnerships between school systems and community-based organizations to address school violence; expand opportunities for family engagement with school personnel to mutually address risk factors for violence; and improve communication between home and school to enhance protective factors for student success. The Initiative will accomplish these goals through a number of activities including providing comprehensive evidence-based education and training for students, school, and law enforcement personnel and parents; implementing the OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model; providing Social-Emotional Learning Skills Training; conducting district-wide Anti-Violence Campaigns; and engaging families by conducting outreach and parent education sessions and helping families navigate community resources for identified needs.
