Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $12,305,000)

The Tribal Law and Policy Institute proposes to continue the operation of the Tribal Youth Resource Center. The goal of the Tribal Youth Resource Center is to support and enhance Tribal efforts through comprehensive, culturally responsive national training and technical assistance to prevent, reduce, and respond to youth delinquency and strengthen fair and beneficial responses for American Indian/Alaska Native youth. Expected outcomes include an increased Tribal capacity to prevent and respond to the victimization, disproportionate justice contact, sub-standard education systems, and archaic social service programs contributing to the ongoing trauma and re-traumatization of Native youth and their families. Subrecipient activities include the National Native Children’s Trauma Center and the Communities United for Restorative Youth Justice.
