Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $6,000,000)

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, operates The National Resource Center and Information Clearinghouse, also known as the National Resource Center and Clearinghouse (NRCC).  Its mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization.  Primary activities include hosting the educational NetSmartz website, facilitating and participating in collaborative activities with allied professionals, providing analytical and forensic assistance to law enforcement in cases, and providing accurate information about these issues and trends related to missing and sexually exploited children.  These activities support the key deliverables of this program including to serve as the National Resource Center and Information Clearinghouse for missing and exploited children; operate a national, 24-hour, toll-free telephone line by which individuals may report information regarding the location of any missing child; operate a CyberTipline to provide online users and electronic service providers a means to report internet-related child sexual exploitation; and provide resources and assistance to individuals, law enforcement agencies, and other child-serving professionals, as well as the public in the prevention, investigation, prosecution, and treatment of cases involving missing and sexually exploited children.
