In addition, federal funds will be used for Planning and Administration and will support the Commission’s operations, largely to reimburse for travel expenses.

The Commission will continue to implement its goals for the Three Year Plan (2024-2026) to include: incorporating youth and families’ voices in all aspects of the Commission’s work, thru the ongoing work of the Youth Advisory Board; supporting and sustaining a compliance committee to oversee and improve compliance monitoring efforts; increasing diversion and deflection programming and alternatives to detention; continued support for local juvenile justice councils; promoting focused efforts to reduce racial and ethnic disparities; and assist with the implementation of new state policies addressing the detention of youth.
