Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $750,000)

Justice Innovation, Inc., doing business as Center for Justice Innovation (Center), proposes supporting youth through the B-Ready: The Brownsville Reentry Program in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The project anticipates serving 100 youth ages 12–18 assessed as moderate risk and returning to Brownsville from out-of-home placements. The Center will implement a comprehensive individualized reentry program that will include pre-release service planning, mentoring, supervision, evidence-based programming, meaningful family engagement, civic and vocational opportunities, and restorative justices programming. The Center recognizes the importance of family engagement and positive peer support and will include them throughout the program, compensating youth and their families for their contributions and engagement.
