Intervention, Prevention, and Education Program

Northern Virginia Family Service, Inc. proposes to implement the Intervention, Education, and Prevention (IPE) program to increase girls’ protective factors and reduce their risk of gang involvement or eliminate their current gang involvement in the Northern Virginia region of the Washington, D.C. metro area. Northern Virginia Family Service, Inc. will provide victim-centered and trauma-informed case management services to girls and their family members and enhanced services to the families of Intervention, Education, and Prevention-referred girls. Intervention, Education, and Prevention is participant-centered and incorporates the youths’ own goals in the creation of their service plans which may cover goals focused on parental and educational support, connecting to positive recreational and community activities, or social-emotional learning.
