Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $476,666)

The Eighth Judicial District Court will collaborate with Sierra Sage Recovery Services to deliver outpatient treatment and recovery housing to youth ages 14 to17 who have been certified as adults and are court ordered into the Clark County, Eighth Judicial District Court, Creating Engagement thru Resources and Treatment Program. This proposal fills a critical gap in services for youth who are no longer eligible for treatment in the juvenile justice system and are too young to access services within the adult system. As a result, youth currently await mental health and substance use disorder treatment in correctional settings until they reach age 18. This partnership will address this lack of appropriate community resources by expanding Sierra Sage Recovery Services’ treatment options for youth in the Creating Engagement thru Resources and Treatment program. The project will serve 45 youth in Clark County, Nevada.
