The Vanderburgh County Superior Courts project is to implement the Vanderburgh Parenting Reentry Program. The purpose of this project is to improve services for those who are incarcerated, their children, and their families, as well as providing specialized services for those who are members of the marginalized Black, Haitian, and Latino communities in southern Indiana. Vanderburgh Parenting Reentry Program will develop, coordinate, and expand current systems of programs and services that foster positive family engagement, reduce factors that lead to recidivism, and address issues that lead to generational incarceration through educational programs and other tangible supports, such as legal assistance, housing, treatment programs, wrap-around services, mentoring, and parent-child contact.
