Travis County Public Defender's Office Education Advocacy Program

The Travis County Public Defender’s Office proposes to implement an Education Advocacy Program through a partnership with Disability Rights Texas. The purpose of this project is to provide education advocacy and support services to youth with disabilities, who are disproportionately represented in the juvenile justice system. This project will strengthen the infrastructure of the Juvenile Public Defense Division’s services by continuing, improving, and sustaining the resources and supports needed to ensure youth with disabilities have appropriate representation, positive futures, and limited justice system involvement.
