Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $974,000)
Over the past decade, the proliferation of digital devices and social media platforms has posed increasing challenges to safeguarding children online, leaving many adults, including law enforcement in Virginia, unsure of how best to protect them. Enough Is Enough aims to address this with The Virginia Children’s Internet Safety Initiative, initially targeting Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV), and Richmond. This initiative seeks to educate and empower Virginians to prevent online exploitation of children, making parents the first line of defense. Key activities include launching the Internet Safety 101 Academy, featuring e-learning modules, videos, webinars, and guides tailored for parents and community leaders. Through partnerships and advocacy efforts, the initiative aims to enhance community engagement, promote corporate responsibility, and establish a statewide framework for prioritizing child online safety.
